What is a Notary:
A Notary Public is an official appointed by the Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing acts related to the signing of important documents. Notaries are publicly commissioned officials, meaning that they are expected to follow written rules without the exercise of significant personal discretion. It is the foremost duty of a Notary to screen the signers for their true identity, their willingness to sign without duress or intimidation, and their awareness of the general import of the document. Some notarization’s also require the Notary to put the signer under an oath declaring under penalty of perjury that the information contained in a document is true and correct.
How to Notarize a Document:
To have a document Notarized you will need the document and proper government issued non expired ID.

ID REQUIREMENTS:
Each signer must present at least one of the forms of ID listed below. The ID must be current or, if expired, have been issued the last 5 years; contain the signer’s photograph, personal description, and signature; and bear a serial or other identifying number.
1- Driver’s License or non-driver’s ID card issued by U.S.A
2- U.S. Passport.
3- U.S. Military ID Card that contains all required elements stated above, (The common Access Card CAC is not acceptable).
4- Driver’s License issued in Mexico or Canada.
5- Foreign Passport stamped by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
6- Inmate ID Issued by the California Dept. of Corrections.
